CODE for radio Xania 1998

I have problem.. I change my battery on my Xantia 1998., and when i try to input code for radio i wrong time input many time.
I know code now, but i have problem , i can not now to input code, on my radio display have only "---"- and i can not to write code when i want tu write number i push taster but "---"- no change only stand "----" can not write number!!!
HELP ME

Finish inputing the wrong code.
Press the BND button until the display shows "CODE IN"
inpute the correct code.
This can be done 4 times before the system locks up.
To unlock, leave radio on for 1 hour.
Start again.
