The French automaker has been tight-lipped on the possibility of a DS3 convertible ever since the popular hatchback made its debut back in 2010.  However, it appears that the rumoured convertible may now be coming to fruition.

It was reported that Citroën invited the employees to a party meant to celebrate the second anniversary of the DS lineup. The brand's top brass told the employees that they would be shown a very special car. As it turns out, the mystery car was none other than the convertible version of the DS3.

It goes without saying that cameras and telephones were absolutely forbidden, but a couple of people who saw the car reported what they saw to France's Blog Automobile. "Take a DS3, add a Fiat 500C-like canvas roof, keep the rear spoiler, stick a chrome band on the trunk, and you've got a DS3 convertible," said one employee.

The French automaker has not released any technical information about the car, but early reports suggests that the entry-level model will be powered by all-new three-cylinder gasoline engine. Thanks to the use of a small turbocharger, the mill is rated at 82 hp and 87 lb-ft (112 Nm) of torque. The other engines will be essentially the same as the ones that are found in the DS3 hatchback. The lineup will include two petrol engines, and a 92 horsepower turbo-diesel unit.

Bolj so na poti do Pariškega salona. Gule verjetno so teli iz tovarne prišli kot normalni, potem so jih pa predelali v nenormalne. Registrirani so pa verjetno zato, ker jih je treba nekaj imet za testne vožnje pa to ane.
