2013 SALES RESULTS - CITROËN steps up international development

- CITROËN continued to grow internationally in 2013 and began its recovery with a 2.1% increase in worldwide sales in the second half and a 4.9% rise in the fourth quarter. - With a 14% rise in sales outside Europe, the Brand offset the decrease in Europe and stabilised global sales for the year at 1,266,000 units. - The performance is the result of a successful product offensive featuring the international launches of the CITROËN C-Elysée and C4 L, two three-box sedans that meet the expectations of fast-growing markets. - The DS line performed strongly in 2013. Extended this year by the DS3 Cabrio and marketed as a premium brand in China, the line-up confirmed its success around the world with 410,000 sales since launch. - 2013 also saw the launch of the New C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso, orders for which already total 58,000, in only few months, exceeding the Brand’s objectives.

Commenting, Frédéric Banzet, Chief Executive Officer of CITROËN, said: “Looking beyond our international development, the Brand’s performances in 2013 confirm the validity of our product strategy. First of all, with DS: a commercial success embodying the return of the French automobile to the premium segment. The strong positioning of this product line is such that we were able to make it a brand in China, where sales of the locally-produced DS5 have already exceeded our forecasts. We also want to bring customers bold design choices and differentiation with our core range. The renewal of the C line began in 2013 with the launch of the New C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso, applauded by our customers and acknowledged by the international press in the shape of numerous awards. The Brand will take things further in 2014, revealing a new model, the CITROËN C4 Cactus, a true manifesto of our new core range. The reveal, opening a new page in the Brand’s history, i s set for 5 February!” HIGHLIGHTS An increasingly international Brand (sales outside Europe up 14 %, accounting for 41% of total sales) o China: CITROËN growth superior to market growth (up 26.3% in a market up 19.1%); China is CITROËN’s no. 1 market in terms of invoices. o Latin America (Argentina + Brazil + Chile) : sales growth superior to market growth (up 3.5% in a market up 1.9%). o Algeria and Turkey: success of the CITROËN C-Elysée. CITROËN increased its market share in Algeria by 1 point. o Strategic local production at the heart of the Brand’s priority regions: - Russia and Latin America: following China (Wuhan) in 2012, the CITROËN C4 L is now produced at Kaluga in Russia and Palomar in Argentina - China: C-Elysée produced at Wuhan and DS5 at Shenzhen Confirmed move upmarket o DS line: with 410,000 sales since launch (120,000 in 2013), the DS line more than ever holds strong growth potential, both in China with a dedicated network and in Europe, where it accounts for 18% of Brand PC orders. In the UK, the DS line accounts for 35% of CITROËN PC sales (up 5 points) with a 23% increase in orders. In Spain, the DS line’s share of the consumer sales market has doubled. Some 11,000 orders have already been taken for the DS3 Cabrio, launched in January 2013. Concerning DS5, one in three sold in Europe is powered by Hybrid4 diesel hybrid technology (85 g/km of CO2 and 3.3 l/100 km). The DS World Paris opened in November, following the DS World in Shanghai in March. o C line: success for the New CITROËN C4 Picasso (launched in June) and Grand C4 Picasso (launched in September) with 58,000 orders. These 2 cars mark a generational leap (new EMP2 platform, lowest CO2 emissions in segment at 98 g/km, strong design, innovative technologies) and illustrate the Brand’s move upmarket (70% of orders for top two trim levels). The strong momentum is set to continue in 2014 with o 8 launches, including the CITROËN C4 Cactus, the first model embodying the new core range, and two new DS in China : the DS 5LS, revealed in December in Paris and an SUV inspired by the Wild Rubis concept car. o A technological offensive: - BlueHDi will be available on new models, including the CITROËN DS5 in February. BlueHDi technology complies with the future Euro 6 standard and stands as the most effective solution for treating NOx emissions (90% reduction) and reducing CO2 emissions. - The extension of the PureTech petrol engine range with a Turbo e-THP 130 model, arriving in spring on the CITROËN C4. The new engine reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by an average 18% and complies with the Euro 6 standard. o The Brand’s debut, with the CITROËN C-Elysée, in the World Touring Car Championship (FIA WTCC) with Sébastien Loeb, Yvan Muller and José-Maria López. The WTCC is a strong image vehicle for backing CITROËN’s international sales offensive. [...]
